Some remarkable anniversaries for November in Irish history

 

November 1884 - The Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in Hayes Hotel, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.

November 1920 - Kevin Barry was hanged in Dublin for his part in a raid that resulted in the death of 3 British Soldiers.

November 1826 - Henry Smith, mathematician, is born in Dublin. He is remembered for his work on elementary divisors, quadratic forms and number theory.
