Have you something to say or are you knowledgeable about Irish History? HistoryJournal.ie is open for submissions of content including articles, images, audio and video.
Help us to build HistoryJournal.ie into the premier community for discussion and discovery of Irish history by submitting your own articles.
Articles can be submitted directly following the instructions to the right of this page. If you have images, audio and video please contact the Site Editor, Sharon Courtney. If you don't have anything to submit just yet, don't be afraid to join in the discussion on our forum.
Article Submission Guidelines
We welcome submissions from everyone on any subject related to Irish History or the history of the Irish Diaspora. Articles and should be submitted by email to our editor (editor [at] historyjournal.ie). Articles should be no longer than 10,000 words in length. Book reviews should be no longer than 1,000 words in length. All articles submitted to HistoryJournal.ie will be read and approved by our distinguished editorial board prior to publication.

Brian Ó Conchubhair
Brian is Assistant Professor of Irish Language and Literature at the University of Notre Dame and a fellow of the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies. He edited Gearrscéalta Ár Linne (CIC, 2006), WHY IRISH? Irish Language and Literature in Academia (Arlen House, 2008) and was Series Editor for Kerry’s Fighting Story (Mercier, 2009), Limerick’s Fighting Story (Mercier, 2009), Rebel Cork’s Fighting Story (Mercier, 2009) and Dublin’s Fighting Story (Mercier 2009). His monograph on the intellectual history of the Irish language revival entitled, Fin de Siècle na Gaeilge: Darwin, An Athbheochan agus Smaointeoireacht na hEorpa (CIC, 2009) received the 2009 Duais an Oireachtais.
William Sheehan
William lectures at the Open University and NUI Maynooth. Formally, a civil servant, he holds degrees from University College Cork, the Open University and Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick.He is the author of British Voices from the Irish War of Independence (Collins Press, 2006), Fighting for Dublin, (Collins Press, 2007), Hearts and Mines (Collins Press, 2009) and co-authored Images of Sarsfield Barracks (Nonsuch Ireland, 2008). His PhD thesis, A Hard Local War: The British Army and Guerrilla Warfare in Cork, 1919-21, will be published by Collins Press in 2010. He is currently working on a biography of Lord Trenchard, the founder of the RAF
