National Archives Irish Maps

The UK's national archive now has a wonderful set of 60 searchable maps of Ireland dating from the 1500s onward. Drawn on parchment, the maps are part of the documentation arising from the Plantaion of Ireland and were used to settle land disputes as land ownership was transferred from Irish landowners to English and Scottish planters.

The searchable archive is available online.
