The Rebellion Of 1641 & The Depositions - Submission Deadline: Friday 29th January 2010
Looking at the outbreak of the rebellion and the reasons for it, then at the massacres that followed the outbreak, this topic will look in depth at the 1641 Depositions, the character of Phelim O’Neill and his allies, the origins and tensions in the Irish Confederation and the course of the war up to early 1642.

The United Irishmen & The United States - Submission Deadline: Friday 12th February 2010
By 1800, radical United Irishmen who had fled their homes in Ireland has begun to influence politics in the United States. This topic will look in depth at who these men were and how they impacted the political fabric of the United states.

Articles should be between 400 and 2000 words (though longer pieces are also welcome). References and footnotes should be of consistent style. If you are looking for a stylesheet please consult the comprehensive stylesheet provided by the Irish Historical Studies (by the way, for those who do not read this fine publiction, I advise subscribing).
