The Fenians In America & The Invasion of Canada - Submission Deadline: 30th December 2009
This topic will look at the Fenian attacks on Canada and their attempt to bring the US into a war with Britain. Articles on how the Fenians
organized in the US at the time; who developed the concept of the attacks; the global view of Irish-Americans from the 1700s onwards, and
details of the attacks - their scale and effectiveness; and the reaction afterwards in the US and Canada.

Soloheadbeg, Dan Breen & The IRA - Submission Deadline: 8th January 2010
Looking specifically look at the origins of Soloheadbeg whether it was an authorized action or not and how it shaped the War of Independence.
What led to it happening when and where it did and specifically then at Dan Breen as a person and his compatriots, tracking their course through
the War of Independence and Civil War.

Articles should be between 400 and 2000 words (though longer pieces are also welcome). References and footnotes should be of consistent style. If you are looking for a stylesheet please consult the comprehensive stylesheet provided by the Irish Historical Studies (by the way, for those who do not read this fine publiction, I advise subscribing).
