Famine Refugees in New York

Staten Island Quarantine StationOver 1 million Irish Famine refugees fled to America as conditions worsened in Ireland. The majority of Irish Famine refugees arrived, along with many other immigrants, in the port of New York. Their first view of the new country was the Staten Island Quarntine Station.
